The majority of people suffering from acne will agree that it is a very troublesome and embarrassing condition. Making things worse is that acne appears where it is almost impossible to hide, on the face.
There appears to be a ton of products for acne treatment, unfortunately, most of these treatments will not work for everyone. Therefore, there is really no such thing as the best acne treatment. Some treatments will work well for a group of people and be totally ineffective for another group. People will try many different types of treatment before they find one that is effective for them.
One reason treatments do not work the same for everyone is because acne is a complicated condition that is not totally understood. The cause of acne can vary from one person to the next. Also, there are many different types of acne. This is why there are so many different treatments available.
We will discuss some of the various treatments below. Remember, the effectiveness of these treatments will vary on a person by person basis
1. Change in skin care and diet
For a lot of people this is a very effective way to control or eliminate acne. A healthy, balanced diet will increase the wellness of a person, therefore strengthening the immune system. This can result in healthier, clearer skin. The face should also be washed two times a day using a mild cleaning solution made for the face. It is not a good idea to wash your face too many times daily. Doing so can make the acne worse, resulting in irritation and more breakouts. The only time you should wash your face more often is if you are instructed to do so by a qualified professional.
2. Over the counter medications
Examples of OTC medications include pads, strips, astringents and creams. These treatments can be very effective for mild or moderate acne. It is important to watch for any possible side effects after using these treatments though. For example, some acne astringents and creams can make the skin very dry and irritated. It is as if you are trading one problem for another. You should stop use immediately if this occurs.
3. Prescription medications
Prescription medications are usually reserved for the most severe cases of acne. These medications are usually very effective but, can have many side effects. If your case is relatively mild to moderate you will probably do best to try OTC medications first.
4. Waiting
In some cases, waiting may be a good option. In some people, the acne will simply disappear with time. This can work with mild cases of acne. If you have a severe case of acne, it is best to seek proper treatment as soon as possible. You may also want to consult a physician if it continues for too long.
For the BEST acne treatment available I highly recommend
